All links within the horticulture chain, some 100 companies, exhibit the latest innovations and developments in the World Horti Center throughout the year. Education at a broad MBO level (Dutch middle level vocational education) is offered with a practical focus in the heart of the sector. There is also a wide range of lectures at HBO (Dutch high level vocational education) and university level for both students and trade and industry. Students come into contact with a multifaceted career at all levels. Education and trade and industry research sustainable applications to give an answer to global issues such as food security, food safety, water management, sustainability and health. As the showcase for the horticulture sector, the centre expects some 25,000 (international) professional visitors each year and is a breeding ground for new initiatives such as HortiHeroes, an incubator and talents programme for the sector.
