Royal Brinkman and Berg Hortimotive move forward together
S-GRAVENZANDE - International horticultural supplier Royal Brinkman enriches its product range with logistic solutions, by acquiring Berg Hortimotive. With this acquisition Royal Brinkman responds to the increasing demand for company-specific solutions concerning logistical processes and realises the growth ambitions that emerge from its strategic long-term plan.
Royal Brinkman has found a suitable candidate in Berg Hortimotive to strengthen its position within business regarding mechanization. Ton van Mil (CEO Royal Brinkman): "We foresee a growing demand of total logistical solutions due to the expansion &internationalization of horticulture, and the increasing scarcity of labour in general.”
In these past few years Berg Hortimotive has focussed on further professionalization of the organisation. "Our company is ready to scale up production and for the further development of logistical innovations", says Bas Lagerwerf (CEO Berg Hortimotive). This is consistent with Royal Brinkman's innovation strategy, which is based on anticipating solutions for horticulture, in cooperation with customers and suppliers.
Berg Hortimotive, with its 70 employees, will remain based in De Lier (Netherlands) and will continue its activities independently, under its current name. All customers, dealers and resellers can continue to count on the service they are used to from Berg Hortimotive. The current management, consisting of Bas Lagerwerf and Nico Bikker, will be continuing the daily management.
Based on its strategy, Berg Hortimotive is convinced that a certain company size is needed to efficiently bring new products and innovations onto the market. A strong organization such as Royal Brinkman, with a large international sales network, is an excellent fit for Berg Hortimotive. By scaling up production and innovations, both Royal Brinkman and Berg Hortimotive are realising their internationalisation ambitions.
